Desert Camera 2017 Africa Eco Race Documentary Free Viewing
ADVMoto has teamed up the Bastian Brüsecke and the Rally Cool crew to bring you all five chapters of their latest documentary. Desert Camera follows a three-person-crew of passionate rally videographers struggling to capture the difficulties and stories of international teams at the 2017 Africa Eco Race. 75% of the advertising revenue from your views and ad clicks will go to directly supporting the Rally Cool team so please comment and share!
Much more than just stage recaps, Desert Camera brings us along to witness not only the beautiful landscapes and people of Africa, but also the struggles and triumphs of the stalwart contenders. The Rally Cool team doesn't sit in air conditioned vans, hopping form point to point taking pictures. Instead, they built two separate KTM 690's and equipped them to follow the racing route as media support, dealing with many of the same difficulties as the racers themselves.
We'll be releasing the Desert Camera in chapters over the next five weeks to be viewed on ADVMoto's Youtube channel for FREE. The first episode releases on June 26, 2018 and approximately every seven days there after, for each of the five chapters. We'll update this page to include the latest available chapter.

Chapter Summaries
Chapter 1: Travelling with Friends - WATCH NOW!
The adventure begins and the legend of the old route to Dakar lives on. The Rally Cool Photographers Bastian, Alessio and Sandra start a joint adventure across the Sahara. Equipped with cameras and driven by passion, they will join the Africa Eco Race 2017 and chase the race to capture the best moments.
But before they start, the bikes of Alessio and Bastian have to be prepared and brought to France. In Menton and Monaco, they finally meet each other. Technical inspections of the vehicles and race administration are obligatory in Menton and also for the photographers! For the last time Monaco holds a festive prelude, before finally going to the New Year's party on the Mediterranean towards Africa.
Chapter 2: We are Guests - AVAILABLE 7/3/2018
Africa – After more than 20 hours on the Mediterranean, the rally reaches the fascinating continent and has taken a little time travel. All modernity was left in Europe. Culture, landscape and way of life are exchanged. 6,500 km and 12 stages separate the rally caravan of Dakar. The riders start their first stages in the Rif and Atlas mountains until they finally arrive in the first dunes of Morocco.
In the Erg Chebbi the photographers lose their connection to the field. Can you manage the task? During the adventure, the photographers meet locals again and again. Locals are unconsciously part of every rally in Africa and help wherever they can. They make the rally a journey. In the rally competition Gev Sella provides a surprise to the entire field.
Chapter 3: Patience - AVAILABLE 7/10/2018
Western Sahara today belongs to Morocco and consists almost exclusively of gigantic gravel and scree deserts. The hammada stretches over a 1,000 km wide desert area and combines the varied landscape of Morocco with the large sandy deserts in Mauritania.
For the photographers, this section is a real test of patience and the endless kilometers drag on. Several mishaps make the night on the way to Dahkla finally a day. In the 2017 edition, an electric bike is in the running and Arnaud Jacquart gives an insight into his electric bike project.
Chapter 4: Never Give Up - AVAILABLE 7/17/2018
The crew is where they wanted to go. Mauritania is a single desert country. Dryness, sand and dust dominate daily life. The race to Dakar is just getting started. In the big dune fields everything decides, the competition between the top riders and also the photo collection of the photographers.
Chapter 4 is the most intense chapter of Desert Camera, showing the downsides and what really matters in a desert rally. The desert is powerful and stands even over the most experienced drivers. Organizer Jean-Louis Schlesser highlights the difference between the two big rallies in South America and Africa and Malle Moto driver Tony Schattat explains the navigation via road book while Manfred Kroiss gives a look at the Iritrack system.
Chapter 5: When Dreams Come True - AVAILABLE 7/24/2018
Once again, the participants of the Africa Eco Race must muster all the strength to make the final leg to Dakar. The Lac Rose in Dakar is a symbol of success, perseverance and relief. Teams, friends and family are already waiting for the contenders there. They all made it to the final destination and can breathe easy.
People who give their all for a passion, believe in dreams, combine competition with friendship and have taken every hurdle on this path. Together they get the legend of the hard rally through northwest Africa. The desert tells stories and the photographers have done everything to capture the important moments of the adventure. They too have reached their goal, shared in the triumph of the racers and draw their own parting conclusions.
