NEW BAJA S4 AND ENDURO S4
KLIM is releasing their new Baja S4 mesh adventure gear and Enduro S4 waterproof overshell, bringing a new level of capability and versatility to the adventure travel world. With unique construction techniques and top-shelf materials, the new Baja S4 Jacket, Pant and Glove are built to provide massive cooling airflow with road-ready protection features – all while offering the mobility and low bulk needed for off-road riding with adventure bikes. The waterproof, 4-way stretch Enduro S4 Jacket and Pant are foul-weather backup plans that fit perfectly with the Baja S4 gear to keep you riding when the weather turns.
Ventilation is the first thing that sets the Baja S4 apart from the competition. Knowing that more layers mean more resistance to airflow, KLIM developers built the Baja S4 with the majority of body panels being a layer of Schoeller®-Dynatec® nylon mesh and a moisture-wicking liner. Even pockets are positioned in a way that they impede airflow as little as possible. The result is a riding kit that lets you feel the relief of even the slightest breeze on the hottest days – all without sacrificing protection.
To further maintain ventilation and comfort, the Baja S4 is also loaded with Karbonite™ Micromesh 1000-denier stretch-woven nylon panels, which further add airflow and mobility. A 2-liter Hydrapak-compatible pocket in the back is ready for hot weather hydration. The Enduro S4 Jacket also features a pair of armpit vents and a horizontal back vent if you work up a sweat in foul weather. The Baja S4 Gloves deliver extensive ventilation and protection with perforated leather construction and direct-vent TPU armor designs.
The Schoeller®-Dynatec® nylon mesh body panels in the Baja S4 that deliver exceptional ventilation also offer chart-topping abrasion resistance and durability. KLIM also uses ceramic-plated Superfabric® in the key abrasion areas on elbows, shoulders and knees to provide exceptional road-ready abrasion protection. D3O Level 1 vented pads in the elbows, shoulders, knees, hips and back provide proven flexible impact protection.
For weather protection, the Enduro S4 Jacket and Pant are stretchy waterproof over-shells for any non-waterproof gear, but they’re also designed to work perfectly with the Baja S4 kit. If you wear a large Baja S4 Jacket, in most cases you’ll wear the large Enduro S4 on top of it as well. Around camp, that same Enduro S4 will still work as a waterproof layer without feeling like a plastic bag. On top of that, if you’re a dedicated minimalist, the Enduro S4 Jacket or Pants will roll up to form a camp pillow as well.

KLIM Enduro S4 Jacket and Pant
REDESIGNED CARLSBAD GEAR
KLIM is releasing the fully-redesigned Carlsbad Jacket and Pant, improving key elements of the gear that has long been popular with adventure motorcyclists for providing the essential necessities of riding gear. The Idaho-based apparel experts have upgraded the Carlsbad with increased impact and abrasion protection, better ventilation and dramatically improved storage options.
Starting with abrasion protection, KLIM inspires more confidence on the road with new overlay fabrics. New 630-denier Cordura twisted yarn overlays on key abrasion areas, including the main outer “slide area” of the arms, shoulders, knees and seat deliver better abrasion resistance than the previous version. Further upgrading strength and durability, KLIM used the same body fabric from the legendary Badlands Pro in certain hard-wearing areas such as the chest, back, forearms and legs. On the jacket, low-wear areas such as the inner arms and collar receive the lighter fabric found in the original Carlsbad. The result is great mobility and comfort together with increased abrasion protection through this specially “mapped” fabric layout.
Impact protection is a similar story. Upgrading to D3O Level 2 LP2 Pro armor introduces an exceptional level of impact energy absorption in the shoulders, elbows, knees, hips and back. These upgrades to safety alone make the new Carlsbad a bang-for-buck winner, but KLIM didn’t stop here when redesigning this kit.
Storage options throughout have been vastly improved, with a monsterous total of 16 pockets between the exterior and interior of the garments. They’re thoughtfully placed for easy organization of essentials. One of the many front torso pockets is a large waterproof chest pocket, which is ideal for storing maps or large cell phones in easy reach. KLIM’s traditional SPOT® Tracker/PLB pocket on the upper chest is also present here, offering a safer alternative for beacon storage than on your bike, which may not be accessible in the event of a crash.
Further upgrades include a more refined ventilation layout. Large forearm vents bring air into the arms, while more efficient chest and back vents add more airflow to the torso. The “Collar Tab Back” vent feature is also a welcome upgrade for extra hot days. The pants have a more refined ventilation layout that reduces bulk and improves efficiency as well.
The redesigned KLIM Carlsbad Jacket and Pant are noteworthy midweight adventure pieces that set a new standard for features available at this price point.

KLIM Marrakesh Pants
NEW AUTONOMOUS Ai-1 AIRBAG VEST FROM KLIM AND IN&MOTION
KLIM has partnered with In&motion, a motorcycle airbag company, to introduce the Ai-1 Airbag Vest, an autonomous airbag system designed for use under a riding jacket for added protection in the event of a crash. The Ai-1 Airbag Vest and In&motion’s In&Box DPP (Detect-Protect-Perfect) sensor platform is the first continually evolving motorcyclist protection technology.
In&motion produces wearable airbag systems for motorcyclists and extreme sports including MotoGP™. These systems use “smart” technology to constantly update and perfect the crash detection algorithms through data automatically collected from users.
The Ai-1 Airbag Vest is one of the highest safety rated motorcycle airbag systems available, with a detection + inflation time under 60 milliseconds, and the capability to offer protection to the thorax, abdomen, spine and neck. The lightweight, electronic vest is fully wireless and autonomous, meaning there are no sensors needed on the bike. An inert-gas canister provides the pressure needed to inflate the vest so quickly, and it can easily be replaced by the user.
In&motion airbag systems have earned the CES innovation award two years in a row: in 2016 for the Ski Airbag Vest and in 2017 for the Moto Airbag Vest.
During the 3-year development period in competition, the airbag system has been worn and tested by world-class riders from MotoGP™, to endurance racing (24h of Le Mans & Bol d’Or), BSB and French Superbike. The product is also approved by IRTA (International Road Racing Team Association).
Since May 2017, more than 7 million kilometers have been ridden across Europe, in all conditions as part of the airbag development process.
Other algorithm-based airbags may only have an algorithm as refined as it can be at the date of manufacturing, or with occasional updates from the manufacturer. The Ai-1 Airbag Vest is continually updated through In&motion with the latest, most precise crash detection algorithms possible.
The main vest body fabric is lightweight, moisture wicking and breathable for comfort underneath a motorcycle jacket. A CE Level 1-rated backpad is built into the vest to provide impact absorption properties in addition to the inflatable airbag system. The vest chassis is designed to withstand up to three inflations, provided the post-inflation procedure is always followed. This avoids the time-consuming process of returning the vest to the manufacturer after each inflation.
By listening to feedback, collecting data, and analyzing results, KLIM and In&motion aim to improve the riding experience with modern safety solutions.
