Features & Benefits

ADV and Dual Sport riders must adapt to a wide variety of environmental and weather conditions - from highway to single track, hot temperature in the dirt, warm air in the countryside, or driving rain and cold temperatures on the interstate. ADVance Guard incorporates an adjustable, sliding airflow Shield that increases front surface area 150% to allow easy adaptation to prevailing conditions and increase comfort without the need for tools. The ADVance design also enables removal of a snap-in plastic Insert at the front surface, as well as the sliding shield, to provide full airflow in hot weather while retaining its wide protective frame.

The multi-functional ADVance Guard can adjust for various riding conditions.

ADVance is an assembly of 3 main components:

1. The wide Aluminum Safety Frame with an open front that mounts to the handlebar;
2. The Insert, which fills the open front when snapped in, or uncovers it when snapped out;
3. The Sliding Shield which is retained by both the Frame and Insert and is adjustable to low or high positions, without the need for tools, to adapt to various weather conditions.

The wide Aluminum Safety Frame provides sturdy impact protection during tip-overs, crashes, or hazards such as trees or outcroppings on a narrow trail. With or without the insert installed, the frame covers not only the hands but also the hand levers and bar switches. Used by itself without the insert or shield attached, the open center permits cooling air flow. The frame mounts at the bar end with fasteners included in the mounting kit and, depending on the bike model, may also come with a spacer or universal bar mount. The opposite end of the frame mounts to a forged aluminum handlebar mount shaped to clear control cables for specific motorcycle models.

The insert is resilient injection molded polypropylene and easily snaps into the open window of the frame. To remove it, one presses the back engagement tabs to release it from the frame. The sliding shield is fastened to the back side of the insert and to the frame at its pivot point. To adjust the shield over a range of 50mm, the rider loosens three thumbscrews, lifts or lowers the shield, then re-tightens the screws. Shield adjustments must made while the bike is stationary. In its fully extended state, total vertical coverage is 142mm, taller than any OEM Hand Guards. In its open front configuration, ADVance Guard's height is 98mm.

Kit 3 - fits Honda Africa Twin; KTM; Kawasaki KLR, Versys

Other models will be accommodated in the near future. An option to fit most small to mid-size
Dual Sport models not equipped with bar end weights will be available in late 2017.
